Fishwick Papers: The "Is That Pastry?" edition
Good morning!
How on earth are you? How’ve you been? How’s that project you’ve been working on? Oh yeah, me too, the end of the year has been bananas. Got any plans for the end-of-year break? I hope you get some more time to take it easy at the start of next year, to get stuck back into that project!
Since my last Fishwick Paper (hey, shout out to those of you who were here when this was *weekly*) I’ve:
been to Aotearoa to co-direct the New Zealand Improv Festival
had a blast teaching a lot at Improv Theatre Sydney
tested my new show Grifted and Talented (more of which next year!)
and finished this year’s Wordplay Quiz, which will be themed around episodes of Bluey. It’s available today over on Patreon, or will be released next Monday in other places, including here.
If you’re in Sydney, I’m doing a big run of shows this week at the beautiful Old Fitz Theatre. My dear friend Maddie Parker and I are two-thirds of The Joy Riders and we’ve a series of special guests to present Joy (Riders) to the World: A Christmas Comedy Caper. It’s going to be a heap of fun, so please do come along (especially tomorrow and Wednesday)
Finally, I know I’ve been on Substack for relatively few issues, but it turns out the management have a fondness for allowing fascists on Substack, so I shall once again be moving the Fishwick Papers to a new home (Beehiiv). If you want to continue receiving the Fishwick Papers, congratulations! You need to do nothing! If you’re a Substack-or-bust kinda person, then unsubscribe by the end of the week and your information shall be lost in the wind and you’ll never hear from me again.
Okay. On with the links.
